So apparently this is suppose to be the “In-N-Out” of New York? Although it’s all about preferences, I was excited to try the Shake Shack!
I loved the interior and organized layout of the place. Clean, but funky;). Although there was definitely a lack of place to sit, I was more worried about the line. I arrived here around 2pm and I joined the line from the outside!
This totally reminded my of Red Lobster, yet so appropriate for the “Shake” Shack;)! I thought this was such a great idea for a bustling fast food joint. Much more efficient than McDonalds!
An Arnold Palmer is Lemonade mixed with Iced Tea (in other words “Lemon Iced Tea”). I like it, but I didn’t find any “Wow-factor” to it. I’d probably prefer Katz’s Lemon Iced Tea;). But it was definitely refreshing and much better than my friend’s Iced Tea was had absolutely “zero taste” to it.
Simply based on presentation I was already extremely impressed. I can’t remember when I’d had a hamburger that looked like an actual burger from a fast food ad. The lettuce was a vibrant green and crisp along with a perfectly sliced tomato. Somehow even the cheese seemed to be a brighter shade of yellow than usual. The hamburger patty was juicy and savory. Although the outside had a bit of char, the inside of the patty was a nice pink, cooked to perfection. And I’d just like to point out I loved the hamburger bun! It was as soft as those Chinese Bakery buns with a buttery feeling (drools!). Completely satisfied! There may be better burgers out there, but the balance of taste, appearance, and how fast it was made was just impressive.
Totally disappointed by the cheese fries. The fries alone were “Good”, but it’s hard to not love crinkle fried! There’s that added surface area for crispiness. But how would they call this Cheese Fries? I was expecting loads of melted cheese on top of the fries. Instead, it’s regular fries with a side of cheese sauce! Why didn’t they just call it Fries with Cheese Sauce? Enough said, I preferred my fries with just Ketchup:P!
If I was a New Yorker I’d never go to McDonald’s again! I’m sure I could find a gourmet burger that’s better, but I thought this was a great burger at such a low price! Although I’m totally not use to these small burgers. On my next visit, I know I have to order like two or three of these;).
