Can’t waste a night in New York no matter how long the day’s been! The city never sleeps, so apparently I shouldn’t either!
AYZA is a small wine and chocolate bar just near the Empire State Building. I thought the decor was quite charming and nothing beats wine and dessert!
There was a generous selection of chocolates and desserts along with pages of wines and cocktails. Definitely a place I’d like to go to relax after a long day of sight-seeing;).
I love Sangria because it’s so fruity and I can drink it like juice! But they definitely did not cheap out on the alcohol with this sangria! I felt the alcohol was a bit overwhelming for a glass of sangria. I enjoy a good glass of wine, but I guess it caught me off guard! Nevertheless, it paired quite well with dessert since it wasn’t as fruity as I had expected.
The layers of crepe were light with a butter cream texture. I thought the caramelized sugar topping creatively mimicked creme brulee and added an enjoyable crispness to the dessert. In general, I found the taste to be a subtle sweetness which would go perfectly with any glass of wine! I wish I had tried their chocolates, but I was so full from Lombardi’s Pizza!
If only Vancouver had such a bar, I’d have a usual place for drinks! With Chocolate Martinis and Sweets Galore, AYZA really caters to wine lovers with a sweet tooth! Not to mention, the atmosphere was very chic yet relaxed. A young businessman/women crowd and energetic staff! Just the vibe I like at a bar!
