On my shopping trip to the Premium Outlets, I was looking forward to the Eagles Buffet the most! I know people think that buffets are so over-rated! Like they only give you quantity and not quality. But I feel like Eagles Buffet has such a great variety. I mean there should definitely be something right for your tastes!
But even if you come to Eagles Buffet for just dessert, you should be pleased. From the last time I visited Eagles, they have definitely reinvented their Dessert Buffet (It was like a buffet on it’s own “Drools”).
Like the usual buffets, there was a Westernized Chinese Food section. They offered a lot of variety. The taste may have been mediocre and predictable, but everything was very fresh (probably due to constant refilling).
I wanted to split my plates up into different cuisine, but at a buffet things just catch you eye;). The vegetables were pretty horrible (LOL). I think people don’t eat much vegetables at the buffet because it probably wasn’t refilled as often. The broccoli was so bitter I couldn’t even finish it!
The Chow Mien and Fried Rice were mediocre, but on par with what I would expect. I actually thought the Sweet and Sour Pork was pretty good. I’m always a sucker for sweet and sour sauce;). But the key factor was I didn’t get any nasty surprises like a bite of pure fat!
Totally mixing up my Chinese plate, I saw Chicken Parmesan and Conchigliette Pasta Carbonara. The Chicken Parmesan was really dry, so it was really hard to eat without adding some sauce. While I actually enjoyed the Carbonara, very creamy and I love Conchigliette Pasta (such a fun shape:)).
So I’ve been watching too much “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives” not to load up on my Meat! The Beef Brisket was juicy and tender, tasted especially great with a generous helping of gravy. I was really craving ribs, but they were quite disappointing. The ribs were coated with a lot of sauce, but it was a bit rough and really stuck to the bone.
Although of course I couldn’t come to the US without eating some fried chicken (a bit cliche, but whatever;))! YUMM! I really liked the Fried Chicken because it was just so juicy and the crispy batter was perfectly golden. The vegetables were a bit better this time, but let’s just say, luckily I got a nice helping of mashed potatoes;). Very rich and fluffy, with some gravy it was great.
I only did two rounds of savory food because the Dessert Buffet was simply irresistible! Just the selection of cupcakes alone was like calling my name! RED VELVET<3!
This was only one of the glass displays of desserts! They totally Up-ed their game in the Dessert Department! There were so many desserts I couldn’t even try them all:(!
Something I don’t see at most buffets are Sugar Free Desserts. But I must warn you unless for some reason you have to resort to Sugar Free, I would avoid eating any of this! With my curiosity I did try some, and it totally upset my tastes buds:(!
I had to try their array of cupcakes because it was the first thing that caught my attention! All of them were soft and moist, not to mention nicely decorated with a swirl of icing. I was so surprised that they had Red Velvet! Delicious (Can’t believe I pay $5 for one in Downtown Vancouver)! The Chocolate was super rich and the Carrot Cupcake was amazing! The cream cheese icing with brilliant.
I was so impressed by the endless desserts, but I knew I wouldn’t be able to try them all. So the first one that I was attracted to was this custard pie. The custard wasn’t too sweet and had a bouncing pudding-like texture. While, I have to note, plated very nicely (especially for a buffet like this;))!
Apart from the crazy Dessert displays, they had an array of ice cream choices! It’s great that they offered a lot of variety, even sugar-free alternatives. I chose the Watermelon and Blackberry sorbets. A bit disappointing, but I was taking a risk (on the safe side, I could have just went for the creamier choices). The sorbets kind of just tasted like sugar, nothing reminded me of Watermelon or Blackberries. But the thing about a buffet is you can always go for more:)!
I can see how a lot of people would be hating on a buffet like Eagles, but for this price, the food was exceptional! Like COME ON! I actually waited in a line to get a seat at this buffet. So there is quite a demand for this place, whether it’s because of the good value or tastes, there is a large clientele! I’ll definitely be back the next time I take a trip to Seattle (even if just for dessert;)).
